The race kicks off the 46th Annual Ohio Caverns Max Evans Memorial Cross Country Invitational. This year’s meet features 19 teams, including our own state ranked Big Orange boys and girls teams and state ranked Columbus Grove boys and girls teams.

The 2018 Kiwanis Logan County Cross Country Championships were held at Benjamin Logan Tuesday, August 28. Runners from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, Riverside, Triad, and West Liberty-Salem competed. West Liberty-Salem took home Logan County titles in the High School Boys & Girls races, as well as the Middle School Boys & Girls races.

Do not use GPS and follow the instructions given by the OHSAA to avoid traffic backup. Spectators traveling from the West on I-70 should exit at Exit 122 State Route 158 N. then turn right on State Route 40.
Spectators can avoid lines and purchase mobile tickets in advance via theTIK TAP app. When you arrive at the meet be sure to have your mobile ticket open in the TIK TAK app and the gate worker will do the rest. As per OHSAA guidelines, no pets, recreational vehicles, drones, pets or balls, frisbees, etc. are permitted at National Trail Speedway. The Big Orange girls cross country team is STATE BOUND again! WL-S won the DIII Southwest Regional Championships Saturday at Troy Memorial Stadium. The Big Orange was led by senior Reghan Bieleski who finished 2nd overall. This will be Reghan's 4th state meet appearance. She joins Big Orange alumni Amy Wallace McDaniel, Shawnda Henault, Savanna Shipp, Jasmine Smith, Jordan Smith, Alyssa Strickland and Meghan Vogel as the only Big Orange female athletes to do so in the program's history.
This year's state meet berth is the 7th in the Big Orange girls program's history (2000, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016). It's the most state appearances of any girls athletic program at West Liberty-Salem. The Big Orange will race at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday at National Trail Speedway in Hebron, Ohio. The WL-S Big Orange Girls Cross Country team earned DIII District Champion honors Saturday placing 1st, earning the program's 21st Regional berth in the last 23 years. The Big Orange boys also qualified for the Regional meet, placing 7th. Complete results from the SW Cedarville District meet are posted on www.finishtiming.com.
The SW Regional Meet will be held Saturday, October 28th at Troy Memorial Stadium. The Big Orange girls will race at 11:00 a.m. and the boys at 1:30 p.m. Admission to the meet is $7. Please come out and support the WL-S teams! We also invite any community members to join the Big Orange athletes and family at their annual tailgate celebration. Please bring a crock pot of soup or chili to share.
